ICIJ admits wrongly adding PM’s name in Panama Papers

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk, Dunya News) – International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) on Wednesday admitted that Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif’s name was erroneously added in the Panama Papers, reported Dunya News.

ICIJ has removed the Prime Minister’s name from the Panama Papers and has further clarified that PM Nawaz does not operate any offshore companies and that his name in the Panama Papers was added as the result of an editing mistake on the basis of which it appeared on the website.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif informed the members of the federal cabinet during a meeting held on Wednesday that his innocence in regards to the Panama Leaks investigation will be proven through the accountability process.

PM stated that he has voluntarily nominated himself in the investigation of the matter despite the fact that his name is not in the Panama Papers. He added that he desires that the investigation process
