Lahore: Pakistan’s ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif today left for London to see his ailing wife Begum Kulsoom amid speculation that he might not return due to the ongoing corruption and money laundering cases against him. Mr Sharif, 67, will spend Eid with his wife and other members of his family in London. He boarded an Emirates Airline flight this morning that has a transitory stay of a few hours in Dubai.
His younger brother Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif saw him off at Lahore airport. Before leaving for London, Mr Sharif asked the people to pray for the health of his wife who is suffering from throat cancer.
