Imran Khan vows to reclaim looted money for Pakistan

Imran Khan has told Britain that his government will bring back money stolen by corrupt Pakistani politicians and taken to the UK.

Mr Khan, the former cricketer who is Pakistan’s prime minister elect after last month’s election, told the British ambassador that he planned to retrieve laundered funds taken from Pakistan and sheltered in Britain.

His party, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), claimed victory in the election on July 26, although the vote was marred by violence and allegations of fraud and the party fell short of a parliamentary majority.

Mr Khan was elected on a promise to stamp out the corruption that has defined Pakistan’s leaders since independence from Britain in 1947. He now hopes to exploit new anti-corruption laws in the UK to seize…
