Matthias Schoenaerts joins the star studded cast of Steven Soderbergh’s ‘The Laundromat’

Red Sparrow’s Matthias Schoenaerts has joined the star-studded cast list on Steven Soderbergh’s Panama Papers feature, The Laundromat.

Also joining the cast as filming kicked off this week was Jeffrey Wright (Westworld, Hold the Dark), Chris Parnell (Saturday Night Live, Rick and Morty), James Cromwell  (Babe, L.A. Confidential) and Melissa Rauch (The Bronze, Big Bang Theory). It was already confirmed earlier in the year that Meryl Streep, Gary Oldman, Antonio Banderas, David Schwimmer and Will Forte had signed up for the Netflix feature. Riley Keough has dropped out of the project due to scheduling conflicts.

Who each of the A-list cast will play remains a little sketchy but we do know that David Schwimmer will play an attorney in the film. Cromwell will play Meryl Streep’s husband, with Rauch coming along as their daughter.

The film is based on the book by Jake Bernstein titled Secrecy World: Inside the Panama Papers Investigation of Illicit Money Networks and the Global Elite. It has a screenplay by  Scott Z. Burns
