Study reveals shocking number of medical device-related deaths

Early this morning, a global embargo was lifted on the world’s biggest investigation into medical devices.

Labelled the Implant Files, the investigation was led by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists, the group behind the Panama Papers expose.

A team of more than 250 reporters, including from the ABC, have found there have been more than 83,000 deaths connected to medical devices over the past decade, including 170 in Australia.
