From Panama Papers to upcoming prison term: How Nawaz Sharif was finally nailed

ISLAMABAD: Disgraced former Pakistan Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif, sentenced to prison for corruption in the Panama Papers case, is set to be arrested Friday evening when he arrives in Lahore. Sharif and Maryam were awarded prison terms of 10 and seven years respectively. Here is all you need to know about the case in 10 points:

1. In July 2017, Sharif had to resign from his position as PM after the 2016 Panama Papers leaks implicated him. The Papers showed Sharif and his children (including Maryam) owned offshore companies in the British Virgin Islands.
